TCH aims to establish an umbrella program fostering new state-of-the-art multidisciplinary and collaborative research projects ultimately anchored in patient needs.
SDU and OUH have excellent ongoing research activities in the theme of cancer research and precision medicine in oncology, but most efforts are rather dispersed. We take the initiative to generate a unifying translational cancer program integrating fundamental and translational aspects of cancer research, named Translational Cancer Hub (TCH).
The TCH aims to establish an umbrella program fostering new state-of-the-art multidisciplinary and collaborative research projects ultimately anchored in patient needs. Such a program and common research themes will sharpen the competitive edge, enabling us to establish a world-class cancer research environment in Odense. The goal is to improve our capacity for early testing of new therapeutic strategies in a clinical setting. This will decrease the distance from bench to bedside for the benefit of the cancer patients.
The TCH is funded annually by Odense University Hospital and the SDU with DKK 2 million. TCH provides financial support for basic, translational, and clinical research projects.
Under TCH, a bioinformatics core facility established to provide basic computational analysis services and scientific collaborations to SDU and OUH clinicians and researchers.
